Good afternoon, Mighty Oak families! As part of our Mighty Oaks Madness fun, we had our 3 point contest on Wednesday. In dramatic fashion, the students beat the staff at the very end 31-30! 

Congratulations to our softball team who just won the City Championship! Way to go!!!

Congratulations as well to our debate team that recently won first place for percentage of wins in their last competition! Debate Team awards/Novice Debate Team wins:

  • 3rd place: Daniel Khan, Julia Song, William Truong
  • 2nd place: Natalie Northrop, Kieran Dizon, Henry Wonnacott
  • 1st place: Olivia Pareja, Eleanor Smith, Avi Arambula

Multicultural Festival Info Meeting: Are you interested in sharing parts of your culture with your Mighty Oak Community? Come to Room 111 at lunch on April 23rd to learn more about how you can participate and share your culture during our Multicultural Festival.

PTSO SacYard Event: Saturday, April 20th between 1:00-4:00 pm join us at Sac Yard Community Tap House to celebrate Miwok Middle School! At this family friendly event,there will be food and drinks available for purchase, an awesome silent auction as well as student created items for purchase. 

CAASPP: CAASPP testing starts on Friday, April 26th with English Language Arts. Headphones are needed for the English portion of the test or for those with special accommodations, these cannot be wireless. We will provide headphones for those who don’t have them. Testing is from April 26- May 15. Click here for our CAASPP calendar, we will be following a block schedule on some days to accommodate testing. As a friendly reminder, all students must have a working district issued Chromebook in order to access CAASPP testing. If your child has a Chromebook that isn’t working, please make sure they notify the office as soon as possible (outside of class time). Below are the parent notification letters: English, Spanish, Russian, Chinese

Academic Support: As a reminder, to have your child finish off the year strong for the last quarter, we have academic support opportunities for students, please see the link:https://miwok.scusd.edu/post/extra-academic-support-opportunities 

8th Grade Hearing/Vision Screening: 8th grade students will have a hearing and vision screening during their Science classes April 22-24. If your child has glasses, please have them bring it to the screening.

ELAC: Estimados padres de Miwok Middle School, quisiera invitarlos a nuestra próxima reunión de ELAC (Comité Asesor de Estudiantes de Inglés). Sera el 19 de abril a las 10:30 am en la oficina. 

Parents of English learners are invited to our next ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee) meeting on Friday, April 19th at 10:30 am in the office.

  • 6/13 Last day of school/minimum day/8th grade promotion celebration @ 9:30 am/7th grade picnic at McKinley Park (please note: 8th graders can have NO MORE than 4 guests at promotion, it is VERY crowded)
