Math placement test

Students currently in an elementary school outside of SCUSD

Miwok invites all incoming 7th graders who do not currently attend a SCUSD elementary school to take the district math placement assessment:

  • Wednesday June 3rd or Monday June 8th from 3:00 - 4:30 pm at Miwok MS.
  • If you are unable to come in person, there will be a virtual make-up session.

Register for the assessment here (for non-SCUSD 6th grade students only).

The school site will review students’ report card grades and available assessment data to determine their placement into Advanced ELA, History/Social Studies, and Science.

Math Challenge Process

If your student is prepared for a course that is higher than Compacted Math 7/8 (the accelerated 7th grade math course), you can find more information about our District Math Challenge Process here, including the form to request a Challenge Test.

Current 7th Grade Elective Forms

Current 7th graders, it's time to choose your elective for next year! On March 26 Ms. Tahara spoke to 7th graders during their PE class about their elective choices for next school year. Students, make sure to talk with your parents before submitting your form. Can't decide...check out the electives descriptions sheet or reach out to a teacher to learn more about a class and find out if you need to submit an application. There are many great options available...what will you choose? Course selection forms are due by Friday, April 10th. Applications (if applying to The Roots, Speech and Debate, or Leadership) are due by April 24th.

Miwok MS Cell Phone Policy Reminder

In an attempt to provide students with a distraction free environment throughout the day, cell phones are expected to be OFF and OUT OF SIGHT from the start of the school day until dismissal. This includes lunch time.

Please help support this policy by reminding your student to have their phone powered off during the school day and smart watches on school mode. If your student needs to reach you during the school day, please encourage them to use the office phones rather than their cell phones. Consistency is the key to success.

If you need to contact your student during the school day, please reach out to the office. We appreciate your support!
