This page will be updated with information regarding the end of the year activities / schedule.  Updates start in the spring and continue through the end of the current school year.

Current 7th Graders- 2026-2027 Course Selection Sheet for 8th Grade: 
Current 7th graders, it's time to choose your elective for next year! On March 26 Ms. Tahara spoke to 7th graders during their PE class about their elective choices for next school year. Students, make sure to talk with your parents before submitting your form. Can't decide...check out the electives descriptions sheet or reach out to a teacher to learn more about a class and find out if you need to submit an application. There are many great options available...what will you choose? Course selection forms are due by Friday, April 10thApplications (if applying to The Roots, Speech and Debate, or Leadership) are due by April 24th.

INFORMATION FOR SIX FLAGS DISCOVERY KINGDOM
8th Grade Field Trip - Tuesday, June 9 , 2026
$100 per student or $60 with Season Pass
(Cash or Money Order Only)

Your student has an opportunity to attend the 8th grade Six Flags Discovery Kingdom field trip on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. The $100 fee includes park admission, transportation, and one meal deal package (1 meal voucher, 1 snack voucher and 1 drink voucher). Sorry, no outside food/drink is allowed (refillable water bottles are ok). Students with special dietary restrictions will need to check in at Park Security or Guest Relations upon arrival.

Discovery Kingdom Season Passes can be used on this trip and the cost is $60.00 which includes transportation and a meal voucher. All students must ride in the buses provided, no exceptions.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is a no-cash facility. Students who want to make purchases at restaurants, retail stores or games can either pay with a Visa, MasterCard, AmEx, Discover, or a debit card. Only have cash? You can convert your cash to a prepaid debit card at one of the multiple kiosks located throughout the park.

Buses will depart from Miwok Middle School at 8:30 am and the estimated time of return is 5:45pm. It is the parent's responsibility to provide transportation home from Miwok Middle School. Bus transportation to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom will be furnished by All West Coachlines.

In order to participate, students cannot have:

  • More than 1 "F" grade in the 4th quarter (posted grade as of May 4th)
  • NO Excessive referrals or other major behavior infractions during their 8th grade school year.
  • NO Outstanding bills for lost or damaged textbooks, library books, or materials.
  •  Suspensions in the 4th quarter will result in the loss of some or all end of year 8th grade activities.

Any revisions to this policy will be communicated to students during the year if needed and are up to administrative discretion. If you become ineligible or are absent the day of the trip, you will receive your ticket on June 10th for use at a later date, money will not be refunded.

Please return the attached (3) permission slips with payment no later than Friday, May 1st to Ms. Payne in the Main Office. Cash or Money Orders (payable to 'Miwok Middle School') are accepted. End of Year Requirements

Administration will review the expectations for behavior and academics, including requirements for participation in end of the year activities during PE periods in late March of 2026.

 

7th GRADE END OF THE YEAR ACTIVITIES

In order for 7th graders to be able to participate in the end of the year activities such as the 7thgrade picnic, etc. they may not have any suspensions in the 4th quarter, excessive referrals, or other major behavior infractions (up to administrative discretion).
 

8th GRADE END OF THE YEAR ACTIVITIES

Participation in the end of the year activities for 8th graders such as the ceremony, dance, theme park trip, etc. is a privilege earned in recognition and celebration of student achievement; students are expected to achieve minimal standards in attendance, academics, and behavior.  

These standards are:

  • No more than 1 “F” grade in the 4th quarter
  • No excessive referrals or other major behavior infractions during their 8th grade school year
  • No outstanding bills for lost or damaged textbooks, library books, or materials
  • Suspensions in the 4th quarter will result in the loss of some or all of the end of the year 8th grade activities, which can include the promotion ceremony. 

Any revisions to this policy will be communicated to students during the year if need be and are up to administrative discretion.
